This covers a visitor who is coming to the UK, usually for up to six months, for a temporary purpose, for example as a tourist, to visit friends or family or to carry out a business activity.

These rules include information about:

  • entry to the UK
  • making an application for a visit visa
  • suitability requirements for all visitors
  • eligibility requirements for visitors
  • extension of stay as a visitor
  • grounds for cancellation of a visit visa or leave before or on arrival at the UK border and curtailment of leave
